Books + Radio
Nahh, kalo buku yg disamping ini pasti kamu2 pada tau dong? Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus by John Gray yg teramat sangat popular. Kali ini tampil dengan sampul dan cetakan terbarunya, meskipun kayaknya contentnya sih tetep sama ya? I've heard quite some time about him and his book, tapi baru ada chance utk baca2 setelah di convince sama temen gue kalo ini buku sepertinya 'wajib' untuk dibaca. Selaen isinya yg emang kadang bisa buat baca ngangguk2 sendiri, tapi juga somewhat, setelah baca sekitar 4 chapters, I know this guy surely knows what he's talking about!
John Gray, if I'm not mistaken, has 3 daughters, and no son. He has plenty to go around and sharpen his skills to understand Venusians. hehehe.... :P Diawal buku ini, dia cerita gimana one day, sewaktu dia pulang kerja... he found his wife at home, upset, and feeling neglected. She was so tired but yet, he has no energy to 'deal' with her. Si John Gray juga lagi membete, dan rasanya pengen aja nyuekin istrinya dan berlalu ninggalin. Tapi istrinya manggil dia, dan bilang,
"Don't go please. This is when I needed you the most. I'm in pain, and I just need you to be there for me...."
Si John termenung sebentar dan dia tadinya yg mikir kalo dia deal with her, somewhat he has to be strong for her. He has to prepare certain 'encouragement' words to make her feel better. Padahal ternyata istrinya cuma pengen di-hug, di temenin, di 'care' sampe rasa bete-nya ato her pain goes away. And from then on, he learns that most women just need a shoulder to cry on, ... that's all. A guy doesn't have to prepare a quick how-to solution to make his lady feels better, which sometimes this has become the classic problem in most relationships, a quick solution only leads to another arguments.
In the first book, the heroine, Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom. But she's never looked better. She has a fabulous flat in London's trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season's must-haves. The only trouble is that she can't actually afford it....not any of it. Her job writing at Successful Savings not only bores her to tears, it doesn't pay much at all. And lately Becky's been chased by dismal letters from Visa and the Endwich Bank...letters with large red sums she can't bear to read, ... and they're getting ever harder to ignore.
She tries cutting back; she even tries making more money. But none of her efforts succeeds. Becky's only consolation is to buy herself something, just a little something. (She just loveeees to shop a LOT). Finally a story arises that Becky actually cares about, and her front-page article catalyzes a chain of events that will transform her life — and the lives of those around her — forever.
Now, let's talk about Radio! ^^ *grins* heheee... seneng deh skrg udah lumayan banyak yg aware ttg streaming cyber-radio, bernama HEARTBEAT STATION. Kemaren baru aja gue kelar siyaran, dan cuma mau berbagi happiness sajah bahwa kemaren listeners kembali mencetak record, hmm the highest peak listeners! Yay! heiehiehie...... bahagianya diriku :P
Buat kamu2 yg pengen gabung, pengen dengerin... langsung aja ke websitenya HBS, dan bisa liat jadwal2 program acara HBS dari sana :) Kenapa sih gue promosiin terus? hehhee soalnya banyak yg nanya2 lagi ke gue, "gimana sih dengerin radionya?", "hari apa aja siaran?", "bisa denger lewat windows media player/real player gak?" :)
